Catherine Deneuve is the mother who is dying of cancer at the center of a dysfunctional family, her only hope bone marrow from family members heretofore banished. What initially seems a trite scenario is played out by writer/director Arnaud Desplechin (Kings and Queen, My Sex Life... or How I Got Into an Argument) in a way that draws the viewer into the family's intimate, funny world. Also features Jean-Paul Roussillon, Mathieu Amalric, Anne Consigny and Melvil Poupaud.
