The Babadook

Sat & Sun April 25 & 26
2015, 7:30 only

THE BABADOOK is a psychological thriller about a single mom raising a troubled boy. This film is so expertly and assuredly crafted that it’s hard to believe this marks Jennifer Kent’s directorial debut. No less an authority than William Friedkin (THE EXORCIST) said that THE BABADOOK was the scariest movie ever made. Small wonder it was a stand-out favorite at last year’s Stanley Film Festival. We’re ending the IFS program with this movie for many reasons. One, we want to use this opportunity to remind you to go to Estes Park next week if you’d like to catch the newest offerings at the Stanley Film Fest. Two, watching it on the big screen as a shared experience with other horrified spectators adds to the thrills. Three, we’ll be giving out actual reproductions of THE BABADOOK pop-up book at each show (market price for each: $80).
