Weekly Wednesday Update, November 10, 2021

Our run of Kieslowski 35mm film prints continues this week. Tonight (Wednesday, 11/10, 7:30pm) it's DEKALOG 7 & 8. Then on Friday (11/12, 7:30pm) it's DEKALOG 9 & 10. From here we switch gears and move toward Kieslowski's color-trilogy: Saturday: BLUE (11/13, 7:30pm), Sunday: WHITE (11/14, this one a personal favorite and also slotted into the 2pm matinee slot), then on Monday (11/15, 7:30pm) we wrap it all up with RED and then take a short holiday break.

I'm pressed for time and keeping this weekly update short. Let me only add this: the film prints are luminous and beautiful. Kieslowski himself said that "The best idea I had in DEKALOG was that each of the ten films was made by a different lighting cameraman. I thought that these ten stories should be narrated in a slightly different way. It was fantastic." I wholly concur and remind readers who missed any so far, not to worry, each DEKALOG stands alone, each has unique rewards, and they all age well with repeat viewings as well.
